The mission of the Mentor Leadership Program is to proactively introduce first-year students to the undergraduate government, academic departments, university offices, and beliefs that compose the community that is Boston College. Based in the ideals of community, service, knowledge, and justice, the group strives to welcome and culture BC's future leaders.

The Mentoring Leadership Program is composed of 35 to 40 freshmen created to continue the process of fostering leadership skills. This is achieved through leadership workshops, a retreat, a series of community service activities, and with the pairing of the members of the program with a member of the Undergraduate Government of Boston College. The goal of the program, through service and skills workshops, is to give a better insight into the student government of Boston College and the university on the whole, thus preparing BC’s future leaders who will be well-rounded and attentive.

MLP is a unified group of creative, goal-driven undergraduates who enthusiastically dedicate themselves to acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to provide valuable leadership for the entire Boston College community. Drawing on our passion, resourcefulness, discipline, organization, and communication we will develop not only a deep understanding of the needs of the BC community, but also a commitment to serving those needs, in a spirit of service to our fellow person.
