Legislative Directors

Mission

The Legislative Directors serve as the direct representatives of the student body in the undergraduate government. They are popularly elected by members of their class to voice the concerns, issues and opinions of the student body at-large. The duty of the elected representative is to secure the protection of students’ rights, interest and free expression, and investigate and openly discuss any matter which affects and promotes the general welfare of the Boston College student community.

The role of the Legislative Director includes serving the needs of their constituents while acting as a liaison between student groups and organizations, the UGBC, administrators and faculty.

Duties include:

*serving on various university committees
*serving in one of the undergraduate government departments (communications,
programming, university. issues, student life, executive, social & cultural)
*coordinating and co-sponsoring of events with over 200 student clubs and organizations
*representing their respective class in the UGBC
*voting as part of a legislative body on critical issues facing the university
